The Tree Addiction Begins

Once upon a time, not so long ago, I drew a tree.

This tree:

And I've been thinking about trees ever since.

I might be addicted to drawing trees.

Last night I drew this:

If there's a support group out there for tree-drawing addicts, send the info my way.

Skull Nouveau

Latest painting:

Made this with a specific friend in mind. Started as a really small sketch in a really small notebook. Thanks to the magic of technology, it's now a fully realized, inked and colored finished piece.

Thank you Wacom tablet I LOVE YOU.

Oh yeah, and Manga Studio. You helped, too. Thanks.

Deep Sea Line Art

Newest paintings...

For the deep sea creature lovers out there. All these can be printed on phone cases, tablet cases, notebooks, and more at the Redbubble Store.

Remember the Creepy Puppets? (of course you do, silly question)
They are PERFECT on these new Graphic Tees (also at Redbubble)

Puppet Hanging - White Line Art Only by SuspendedDreams

I would wear that. Freaking all the freaking time.

I've got a lot of ideas, dishes to do, and a daughter to feed; there are not enough hours in a day. Can't wait to get on the Wacom tablet again.
Lots more to draw.

But not another octopus.

O_O

That octopus was INTENSE.

Line and Texture

I sat down with my Wacom tablet the other day (after dusting it off and apologizing for neglecting it for so long in favor of crochet) and stared blankly at my computer screen.

Waiting for inspiration.

(which is fruitless, I know, but I do it anyway)

When none was forthcoming, I just started moving the stylus around.
Opened some new brush files.
Played with my favorite colors.
Drew a flower.

And that's when Inspiration walked in.

I still have more ideas, so I'm not done with this style, yet.
I see aquatic life.
The moon.
Gears.
And more leaves.

Because nature.

I'm calling this collection Line and Texture, you can see it on Redbubble (click here) and eventually I will add a new section to the Gallery on this blog.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have a minute, we should connect - show your support, let me know what you think I should try next. Thx!

GAM Con Has Passed...a New Chapter Opens

All in all, I think GAM Con went well.

Except for the lousy lighting, resulting in these fuzzy pictures...

I can't help but wonder, "Why was I so compelled to crochet for the last two months, laying all my drawing and painting aside?"
And believe me, "compelled" is the only word for it.

I don't know if anyone can really explain the creative drive. We just run with what we're inspired to do when the inspiration hits. Or compels.

Now I feel the urge to get back into the habit of drawing/painting on a regular basis but - golly gee, wouldn't you know it? - getting back into a habit is not as easy as getting back into bed.

I might bring out my Wacom tablet this morning. Dust it off, take it for a spin, make sure everything works the way I left it.

I'll let you know how it goes.
