Commissioned Work and Other Projects

Someone reached out to me the other day to commission me for a drawing. I love getting commissions!

Anyway, it was for a boy as a birthday gift for his girlfriend. The scene: the first time he noticed her, 6th grade art class. This is how it turned out:

Looking at this makes me feel woefully out of practice, but he likes it. And if the customer is happy, then I guess I'm happy, too.

I've also been coloring some of my basic sketches, here's how they are going so far:

Fun times.

Birthday Art is the Best

Painted this for a friend's birthday. She treated me to a trip to Utah's Living Planet Aquarium a while back. We took our sketchbooks and made an "art day" of it.

We settled in the Shark Tunnel and drew the Nurse Shark (vain, beautiful creature; I'm sure he was flirting with us) and Manta Rays (one in particular, jealous of our fraternizing with the nurse shark), and these strange unicorn fish whose name I neglected to learn.

It's so fun to give original art as a birthday gift. I love making it and it's personal and meaningful to the recipient. Way more special than anything I could pick out at the mall.

Would you like to give someone a personalized gift of original artwork? You can ask me about commissions and see more of my work on my Facebook page by clicking here.

Love you all. Stay beautiful.

Commission!

I was recently commissioned to paint a puppet for a full chest tattoo.

COOL.
And also -
O_O

Never done a piece for a tattoo before. Slightly intimidated.

But what a COMPLIMENT to my puppets that someone wants it permanently in their skin!

They were great to work with, a perfect client. I hope they had a good experience commissioning me. (fingers crossed)

Here's the finished piece:

Want your own puppet? Just ask!

Christmas Projects

I'm now on Instagram!

It is mostly crochet project pics right now, but it will also have art, too. Find me here - instagram.com/kennarieske

Like my sculpture professor, I am not "technologically retarded, just technologically resistant."

So it takes me a while.

Been working on Christmas gifts - here are a few things I've been working on:

Fanart for a friend

Coat of Arms for my Handsome Husband
Vintage-style plush kitties for my daughter
Are you ready for Christmas?

Well good for you. Cuz I'm not even close. O_o Still so much to do!!
