Re-reading The Hobbit

Nothing can quite capture the satisfaction that comes from exploring Middle Earth with Bilbo Baggins. I've been drawing scenes from chapters as I go. Here's what I've done so far.
Still figuring out Smaug. I'm trying to NOT illustrate these characters to look like they came out of the Peter Jackson films. These are mine, my own imaginings that come to life as I read the book. No offense to the Peter Jackson movies, they're great but too departed from the original story for me.
So I'm working on a smug, but fierce, Smaug dragon. Tricksy, but I love doing it.

#ThrowbackThursdayART

My Artist Sister (aka: comicstrip or Good Moe-Jo) agreed to do something very brave with me today.

We're going to participate in Throwback Thursday...
Artist's Edition.

Every Thursday we're going to post OLD drawings and hashtag it - #ThrowbackThursdayArt

(if you're an artist, please join us!)

So here's mine....(ah sheeesh, this takes more courage, and humility, than I thought it would)

This was 10 YEARS AGO, back before REAL sketchbook paper existed. Phew, that's old!
WOW.
 O_O

All my fellow Legend of Zelda fans will enjoy this, I'm sure.

(come back tomorrow, I'll have some new art for your viewing pleasure)
