Moving and Sleeping and Sleeping More

My little family just moved back to Utah after a lovely 2 years living in Arizona. The move was exhausting. And exhausting. And wow, I'm tired.

But it's over now, we're settled in and getting back into a routine. Haven't set up my painting equipment yet, but I have cracked open my sketchbook once or twice.

Painting idea. Parchment texture, rose gold color scheme. It's gonna be great.

Birthday Art is the Best

Painted this for a friend's birthday. She treated me to a trip to Utah's Living Planet Aquarium a while back. We took our sketchbooks and made an "art day" of it.

We settled in the Shark Tunnel and drew the Nurse Shark (vain, beautiful creature; I'm sure he was flirting with us) and Manta Rays (one in particular, jealous of our fraternizing with the nurse shark), and these strange unicorn fish whose name I neglected to learn.

It's so fun to give original art as a birthday gift. I love making it and it's personal and meaningful to the recipient. Way more special than anything I could pick out at the mall.

Would you like to give someone a personalized gift of original artwork? You can ask me about commissions and see more of my work on my Facebook page by clicking here.

Love you all. Stay beautiful.
